RDC Give Away
Lessons are learned every day at
the studio. The lesson learned from the RDC Trade
Show is; never stand around to see who wins one of
our works.
Beyond this hard lesson learned, the show was very
successful! We are commissioned to design a large rug
for a major Boston interior designer for one of his
clients. We also made great contacts showing the
laminated art glass now produced by RM Global, who
received several commissions for art
glass.
RDC Give Away!
Our latest laminated glass art project!
This is our latest
work for a glass company's corporate headquarters.
Currently going into manufacture, we will post
photographs of the installation once complete. Our
focus with this work was to weave the art into the
entrance such that their ascending stairway beyond
can be seen, suggestively before entering. The idea
is to elude to, but not reveal all which lies beyond,
while creating a work of art in glass to captivate
the imagination of their clients for all that is
possible.
Naturally, we're very excited to see this work come
to reality, and will keep you posted.

Two London Shows
liquidoranges STUDIO is being represented by our UK Agent, Janiece Wallace at two very exciting shows in London THIS WEEK. 100%Design and Decorex, both this weekend. You can download our London brochure here. Looking ahead, mark your calendars for April 14-15, 2010 when we will be at the Residential Design & Construction show at the Boston Seaside World Trade Center. We are also seriously considering a booth at this years Build Boston in November to feature our laminated glass art. Stay tuned.
LAMINATED GLASS ART IS HERE
Stunning is NOT
strong enough to describe these Laminated Glass
works. The very nature of the art film interlayer
offers unbelievable "projection" effects, where the
art glass designs cascade across everything in their
path. This is a glass product like no other! These
samples, fresh from the laminator are FLAWLESS,
including the edges, which are polished to
PERFECTION. One of the secrets to the success of this
product is our exclusive use of Low Iron glass, which
is so wonderfully clear it does not alter our
artworks in the least. There is no "green" tint. We
can provide this in any size required for a specific
application with our project specific commissioned
artworks. Stay tuned for photos of installations!
We've got two in the works already.

F&T Group, Flushing, NY visit
liquidoranges STUDIO
was invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony of
F&T Group’s Queens
Crossing building in
Flushing, NY, Saturday, August 8, 2009. F&T
Group is a global real estate conglomerate doing
business in the USA and China. Their
e888 division,
QC/StyleFolio International Senior Vice President,
Mr. Michael Chan invited liquidoranges STUDIO for
the day to partake of various celebrations, and to
meet with perhaps the world’s finest bone china
manufacturer, Yong Feng Yuan Industry Co., LTD. We
met Michael in Atlanta where he came to our booth
with great ideas and opportunities for
collaboration.
We dined at Mulan, enjoying
lobster, ribs, and traditional Chinese dishes,
with the chairman of the board of Yong Feng Yuan
Industry, Mr. Liu Quan Hui, and members of his
entourage visiting the USA for the first time.
They were here to unveil their stunning
“Auratic” line, which I
have to say was absolutely flawless in its
execution. It was such an honor to meet Mr. Hui
(seen in the photos if you click the Auratic link)
and to present liquidoranges STUDIO design work.
We presented Mr. Hui with our “New Media Fine Art
Works” ©2009 book (v2.0) and photographs of our
fine bone china prototypes, which were very well
received.

Back from Atlanta
Back from Atlanta!
The AmericasMart Home Goods show was absolutely huge.
Four buildings, 7 million square feet, connected by
sky bridges. A John Portman enterprise. A huge thank
you to my wife, Julia Schroeder who stepped in at the
last minute and went for the entire show, jumping in
to set up the booth and provide relief to me and Matt
Weiss. Not only did she step in to fill a void, she
solved the several booth presentation issues we had.
Jan Willard came from Laren, Netherlands but FedEx
did not deliver his rug samples until the following
Monday, the day Jan had to leave to return home. His
latest samples are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and will be
photographed for the web site shortly. I was nearly
speachless when the rug samples revealed themselves
from the packaging. You can see one of them on
the Atlanta
page.
A very special thanks to Matthew Weiss for his
excellent work in the booth. Matt made some really
promising contacts for us which we are pursuing.
We were approached by two magazines interested in
publishing our china. We met hospitality groups
interested in the entire concept; glass, wall art,
china and rugs. We have SO MUCH to do, and the next
several weeks are going full tilt, working through
all our new contacts and opportunities. There are
many, many excitings yet to reveal themselves here in
this blog, but I assure you, as they unfold and
become public, you will read about it first right
here.
vertical surfaces as art
liquidoranges is
launching a series of wall covering designs for a
major North American manufacturer. We see this as yet
another opportunity to further our new media
explorations into beautiful product development.
We’ll be able to share more about this venture as it
progresses, so keep checking back here for updates.
Elsewhere in the studio, we are preparing a print
series for a retail test run. Atlanta looms, and has
all of us scrambling to get everything ready. Thanks
goes to our friends at ICL Imaging for the continued
production of our art glass films, and our show
sign. Dan, your commitment to liquidoranges is
phenominal.
Sunday is my 50th birthday. Today, Cary, Matt and
Paul surprised me with a Dunkin Donuts Coffee Card
and a large portfolio case! Now, they just walked in
with cupcakes, so I have to go.
Open House Presentation - Partial
This
is the video presentation from our first Open House,
Wednesday, April 22, 2009, hosted by Pandith’s. The
entire presentation is too long for YouTube and the
music used is copyright protected and thus removed
from this video. The event was a HUGE success on many
levels, from meeting new people, design
professionals, etc. to meeting new business
relationships. The food and wine were excellent, and
our glass partner, Advantage Glass brought their crew
to erect an 8’ tall glass film sample. The rugs were
a big hit, as well as the artwork. But the biggest
sensation of the day was undoubtedly the glass art
film, now ready for sale after months and months of
testing. A special thanks MUST go to Mr. and Mrs.
Pandith for their incredible hospitality. Big hugs to
to Susan Stanley for her endless support, flying in
from California to help with the final setup and
details. Big kisses to my best friend, my wife Julia
for her perfect hostessing, and my daughter Amanda
for managing the guest book. What a great first year.
Just wait: year two is already exploding with
international growth in new product development and
sales potential.
