Work in the Studio
I explore our sense of place, working electronically with light and forms through color. My works are visual experiences defined by spatial gestures and broad strokes that seek to evoke thoughts of familiarity with unfamiliar imagery, as interpretations of what I see. We should challenge how we see, and I work to offer alternative assessments I feel when confronting everyday experiences.

My work in colors, pattern, distortion, and layering of content, seeks responses to memory through recollections of place. I draw by hand using a digitizer tablet directly into the computer, as if holding paint on a brush. Decisions beginning to end challenge my sense of order, my belief in color, my understanding of place.

Finished works appear as tangible, plausible interpretations captured as fantastical images of contradiction between that which we know and believe. The conversations between light, form, and color offer striking images seeking to evoke real memories of places that never existed.
